How? Become a Quality Inspector at Abbott at Arecibo, Puerto Rico. This position is for a second shift.

As Quality Inspector you will use fixed or variable measuring instruments (including sight inspection) to inspect incoming parts, work in progress product, and/or finished product; checking for conformance of the product or process as defined by specifications. The Quality Inspector uses established procedures to conduct routine and repetitive inspections and works under direct supervision to perform assigned tasks.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
  • Perform incoming/in-process inspection, final inspection, and testing of product and/or materials according to applicable specifications, standards; using required equipment.
  • Complete/prepare applicable documentation reporting all inspection results. Based on results of inspection; allows release of goods to the next process. If non-conformance is observed; the inspector documents the non conformance, identifies and segregate the impacted material and/or product, as applicable.
  • Participate in internal quality audits as requested by management and assist in the development and implementation of updated inspection procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in an inspection role in a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
  • Must have good math aptitude, good vision, and capable of accurately utilizing detailed measurement instruments for extended periods of time.
  • Must have the capacity to calculate, coordinate, detect, evaluate, inspect, and collect detailed information.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred - as a minimum must be able to follow written procedures in both languages (English and Spanish).
  • Must have mechanical aptitude certifications as may be required for the position.
  • Prior knowledge of QSR, statistics, ISO, CAPA is preferred.
