Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an experienced professional to join our HR Business Partner team. HR Business Partners act as a central point of contact to our employees and supervisors on matters related to talent management, employee relations, employment, compensation and benefits. This particular position will have a greater emphasis on employee relations & compliance with responsibility for conducting workplace investigations of non-represented employees across NNS including determination of discipline & other corrective actions for employee misconduct, completion of case close-out reports and working with Legal counsel & other team members to properly disclose findings to governmental agencies as required. A successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience with compliance to applicable HR policies/practices as well as federal & state regulations for a federal contractor in a union environment. Implements Human Resources policies as a generalist, partnering with business operations to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and resolves HR issues. Responsible for and/or serves as a HR liaison for most of the following areas: succession planning, talent management, labor relations, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, EEO, and/or training and development.

Basic Qualifications

6 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 4 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
