As a Clinical Program Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for flawless execution of the Care Partner Program. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for successful program performance, coordination of teamwork across teams, and building relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Key functions of the Clinical Program Manager include business case development, tactical program execution, platform expertise, issue resolution, client support, contract paperwork and process development. The role will also be required to understand compliance requirements and measures.

This position is based out of Schaumburg, Illinois.

Primary Responsibilities:

Pharmacy:
  • Support the development of clinically sound alerts, case management workflows, and talking points for the program
  • Lead the review of network contract paperwork, Performance Guarantees, and incentives
  • Client relationship management - provide responses to drug information requests, assess, and interpret customer needs and requirements and identify creative solutions to non-standard requests
  • Help establish Standard Operating Procedures, support improved tracking/measurement of Key Performance Indicators and streamline current processes to promote better autonomy and ownership of functions
  • Coach, provide feedback and guide others; acts as a resource for others with less experience
  • Given time - sensitive issues required by CMS and other regulatory bodies, there may be times that extended work hours are required to ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner

Program Management:
  • Ability to interpret competitive intelligence, industry and market trends, and customer feedback
  • Ability to develop sound business cases and cost / benefit analyses to support product efforts
  • Ability to translate ideas into strategies, define plan for those strategies, and work cross-functionally to seamlessly execute against plan
  • Support the development of compelling market messages
  • Navigate and influence multiple cross - functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment, which may require working across Optum and UHG business units
  • Manage cross - segment projects and initiatives that require influencing and analyzing
  • Works with leadership to determine appropriate success metrics with which pilots and / or general available products will be evaluated

Required Qualifications:
  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist licensure in IL
  • PharmD or bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
  • 3+ years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist
  • 3+ years of Managed Care experience OR Clinical Program Development/Clinical Program Management experience
  • Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment
  • Ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.

  • Managed Care experience
  • Experience with Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
  • PBM experience
  • Pharmacy residency experience
  • Medicare Part D experience
  • Knowledge of the product lifecycle management
  • Experience and comfort level with presentations and storytelling
  • Willingness to think creatively to streamline or improve current tasks
  • Ability to multi-task and keep organized across competing priorities
