Microsoft System Administrator


Job Description:

Leidos is seeking to hire a Sr. Microsoft System Administrator to provide support to the Department of Transportation's Enterprise IT Infrastructure environment. Our work will assist with the management of IT services for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) including: Service Desk, Incident Management, Customer Service Operations, Database Administration, Telephone & Conference Call Services, Desktop Support, Mobile Device Support, and Remote Access Support.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Windows Server infrastructure, to include oversight of Active Directory and SQL Server.
  • Provides leadership to the Windows Server team, overseeing activities within server imaging, Active Directory management, and SQL Server.
  • Provide technical direction to lower-level Systems Admins and reviews work.
  • Respond to all escalated service requests and trouble tickets delivered through the Service Desk.
  • Independently analyze, and recommend alternatives for elements of project's technical design
  • Maintain records of daily activities, problems and remedial actions taken, and/or installation activities.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues. Works primarily in a virtualized environment.
  • Develop change plans for all Windows Enterprise/Domain modifications.
  • Maintain/update servers for high-availability, to include load balancers, placement within the virtual environment, and daily review of system and application logs

Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires an BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a BS degree, 10 plus years of experience may be considered.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, cloud infrastructure, file and print environments, specializing in Windows operating systems.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and SQL Server.
  • Must possess a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Server Infrastructure or equivalent.
