Reliability Engineer

Site Name: Guayama JV Posted Date: Oct 18 2021 As a Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering expertise to the Engineering Maintenance Unit to improve the overall equipment efficiency\systems performance and reliability. You will be responsible for anticipating future maintenance and engineering equipment needs. The Reliability Engineer is also responsible for the analysis of actual equipment design and performs failure mode and effect analysis, or formulates models to identify units posing excessive failure risks; and recommend/implement changes in design of these technologies to attaining customer-specified operational reliability levels, using reliability engineering knowledge and other technologies/techniques. Initiates the development and implementation of new approaches and maintains close communication with Engineering Department to exchange pertinent project information. You will also develop and implement practices to maximize production equipment uptime and mentor and provide guidance to PdM Technicians on Reliability Strategies and Technologies. You will conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environmental guidelines, as appropriate, etc. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: Execute their responsibilities with proper regard for quality and following cGMPs. Ensuring that individual responsibilities are performed in a manner that is consistent and compliant with Guayama quality expectations. Reporting quality issues and concerns through appropriate corporate or site processes. Identifies and leads Maintenance, Manufacturing, Packaging and Utilities teams in implementing practices to maximize equipment uptime based on priorities defined by each area. Works with Vendors to identify training opportunities, equipment upgrades and best practices. Monitors Equipment Downtime and establishes actions to optimize equipment performance: Evaluates CMMS failure data for trends and root cause. Establishes corrective and preventive measures to avoid equipment failure recurrences. Monitors and trends equipment MTTR and MTBF Participates in critical task analysis. Establishes criticality of equipment and establishes reliability strategy for the site equipment. Leads and execute equipment FMEA's / RAG's. Assists with troubleshooting of critical equipment operation difficulties as they arise. Partner with Engineering Manager and Maintenance Supervisors to facilitate training sessions. Partners with Engineers and Quality Specialist in Equipment Related investigations. Leader for the Reliability Teams and Troubleshooting team. Acts as a role model by demonstrating safe work practices. Enforces safety rules and recognized safe behavior and practices. Provides accurate and timely feedback to Manager regarding status of costs in their area. Implements OEE practices to continuously meet packaging and production standards. Partners with Operations in implementing cost and efficiency improvement projects (i.e. yield and/or productivity improvement). Establishes Equipment Hierarchy, PM Plan, and Spare Parts suggestions of site equipment Provides support in new equipment capital project implementation to assure site standardization of equipment and practices Establish and overview the predictive maintenance program of the sites in terms of Vibration, Ultrasound, Thermography, Lubrication, Eddy Current, Motor Current Analysis, Thickness Testing and others. Interacts with Site Directors, Business Unit Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Global Engineering and other exempts, non-exempts, hourly and clerical personnel. Frequent contact with outside suppliers and vendors including services and construction contractors. Sporadic contact with government agencies' officials and inspectors. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Degree with 8 or more year of experience in maintenance and/or reliability. Eight years plus experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or similar industry within Engineering, Technical Services, Production or related field. Six Sigma Certified Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Master Degree in Engineering Strong technical background. Strong knowledge of cGMP, OSHA FMEA tools strong knowledge. Knowledge and experience in Reliability Maintenance is highly desirable. Leadership and project/team management experience desirable. Mechanic inclination highly desirable. Knowledge in Predictive Maintenance Technologies desirable. Experience in implementation of Maintenance programs is considered a strong plus. Experience in maintenance and calibration functions is desirable. Experience with PLC based process control systems desirable. Experience supporting Quality Assurance Investigations. Proficient with personal computers and analytical testing. Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in Spanish and English. Proficient in problem solving techniques. Able to manage and control a variety of multi-disciplinary projects. Experience in conducting process equipment and utilities investigations. Why GSK?
