Sr. Process Safety Engineer

Site Name: Guayama JV Posted Date: Sep 30 2021 As a Senior Process Safety Engineer you will be responsible for developing and implementing the process safety management program at the site. This will include hazard identification, risk assessments, mitigation planning and project implementation, development of procedures, compliance auditing, and compliance reporting This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: Coordinate and facilitate deployment of the Process Safety Management program to achieve improved identification, assessment, and management of process safety hazards. Ability to identify any potential or actual adverse process safety hazards and develop appropriate risk management strategies. Lead, manage, and facilitate the completion of process hazard identification and risk assessments (PHIRA) for the facility (e.g. HAZOP, FMEA, TRA). Plan mitigation of process safety risks and manage projects to implement mitigation plans. Ensure that process safety related documentation for all identified hazards are developed and maintained. Identifying process safety training needs and to provide that training through in-house resources or external consultancy. Creation & delivery of process safety training packages, including legal code requirements, to equip the site with the internal expertise needed to manage process safety performance in a sustainable manner. Auditing of the process safety management program. Act as site point of contact for all process safety related matters. Providing day-to-day advice & guidance on process safety issue Liaising with above site process safety center of excellence and external regulators. Communication of group alerts/shared learnings/legislative updates relevant to process safety management Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering 2 years plus experience in process safety and risk management, preferably in the pharmaceutical, petroleum, or chemical manufacturing industries. 2 years plus experience in the application of process safety principles in a manufacturing environment. 2 years plus experience related to powder handling hazards is preferred. 2 years plus experience leading cross functional teams and the ability to coordinate a cross-functional team of experts to identify and implement solutions for the identified challenges. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Experience in project management. Ability to partner and influence across all levels of the organization. PE License preferred. Formal process safety training preferred, e.g. Chilworth or other industry recognized training. Why GSK?
