Corporate Strategy Dir - M-F

Basic Purpose:

Provide insights to and advise the CEO and Senior Management Team on strategic challenges and opportunities for the organization. Provide thought leadership on the healthcare market and on how Quest Diagnostics can achieve its vision, goals and strategy. Manage and direct analytics to address market, sub-market and business questions. Lead governance process for Board of Directors and Senior Management Team on behalf of the CEO.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Research strategic questions for the Senior Management team and develop recommendations for market and competitive conditionsUnderstand and articulate market dynamics and drivers in our Market Growth model - outline key inputs into the model, manage update process, and summarize key insightsIdentify, track, and communicate critical trends across markets, industries, and competitors that affect business segments - audience includes Senior Management team and other key internal business partnersSize the total and addressable market and identify and size sub-segments of the market Conduct market and competitive analysis to assess opportunities including influencing overall industry behaviorsInteract with the senior management teams of strategic customers to develop relationships and manage joint streams of work Develop relationships, negotiate, and work closely with potential alliance partners and / or market participants Work directly with the CEO to develop agendas and content for Board of Directors meetings Engage directly with the CEO to develop agendas and content for Senior Management Team quarterly Executive Weeks and monthly meetings - manage all elements of meetingsWork with business owners at all levels of the company to define and detail strategic initiatives Understand Quest Diagnostics' core capabilities, identify and determine how to close gaps to necessary capabilities Generate consensus and action within conflicted and under-informed situations or decisions Oversee the development of the company's strategy through the Management System and Hoshin Kanri planningCoordinate the three year strategic planning process across multiple segments of the organization (Clinical Franchises, Commercial regions, Finance, etc.)Take the lead on selected projects to drive early stage implementationManage outside vendors and consultants Embrace corporate citizenship, including contributing to the development, implementation, and oversight of corporate policies, strategies and programs
Supervision Exercised:
The role is intended to work with and facilitate business teams or cross-functional teams, including from external partnersTeams would typically be Directors or above and 6-8 peopleThe role also supervises 1-2 analyst positions (Manager, Strategy and Business Deployment or Senior Business Analyst)
Bachelor's Degree and Master's in Business Administration required7+ years at a management consulting firm or 10+ years in Corporate environment setting/driving strategic changeConversant in US healthcare system Must possess superior analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to communicate complex ideas and handle ambiguity Proficient in creating new economic or business models Excellent in driving and facilitating senior level teams and in crafting logical storylines for reviewStrong listening, written and oral presentation skills suitable for C-Suite and external partner discussions Proven experience in strategic planningProven experience in risk managementProven experience in change managementStrong relationship building skillsKnowledge of project management techniques and toolsProficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
