Job Description

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience. Master's Degree and 1 year of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 12 years of relevant non-exempt, Manufacturing, Military, Shipbuilding or Trades experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

This position will report to the Self-Assessment/Continuous Improvement Team (Dept. O06). The Candidate will interact with all levels of the manufacturing and engineering organizations.The candidate will provide senior team members with data analysis through available data streams that will be used by the Programs to develop and execute actions to improve performance.Candidates should:
• Have an advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and 6-sigma principles.
• Be well versed in data analytics.
• Be able to guide diverse groups of individuals in solving complex quality and production problems, as well as work independently on different projects.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have excellent organizational skills that allow the candidate to work on several projects at once.
