Senior Manager, Marketing Services Sourcing

The Sr. Manager, Marketing Services, Sourcing position is responsible for supporting and executing Sourcing Excellence processes, and potentially managing Sourcing Excellence team members. The role will involve close day-to-day, virtual collaboration with Marketing Services Category Leaders to support ongoing category activity. Key responsibilities include owning and driving implementation of high value and highly complex sourcing projects and contracts, revenue enhancement & Supplier Relationship Management (‘SRM’) programs.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Understand the Commercialization, Marketing Services business requirements and translate them to effectively lead sourcing initiatives including Requests for (Proposals, Information, Solutions etc. (RFXs), Commercial Agreement execution, the execution of Master Services Agreements (MSA), and Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Lead cross-functional teams to manage sourcing projects in support of business requirements and expected business outcomes.
  • Oversee end-to-end development and implementation of Sourcing and Contracting Strategy
  • Drive sourcing strategy implementation and execute sourcing events for preferred supplier selections as well as decision support
  • Prepare and issue contracts for legal review and approval. This specific role will require complex contracting for global or cross-category contractual relationships.
  • Understand and develop procurement financing and leveraging strategies (e.g. lease vs. buy).
  • Support Supplier Performance and Agency Management initiatives
  • Participate in other agency management activities involving key preferred suppliers, using the Supplier Management methodology, developing metrics for supplier performance, conducting supplier visits and evaluations to determine capability, alignment, and capacity
  • For escalated issues with respect to quality or performance, support Category Leaders with the analysis required to identify root cause issues. Own and drive mitigation projects on a prioritized basis.
  • Manage/lead Sourcing Excellence teams to ensure continuous development of the organization and staff
  • Support the hiring, performance evaluation, management and development planning of assigned Sourcing Excellence employees, and mentor junior staff in the SE organization; this includes employees geographically separated from the Sourcing Excellence leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S./B.A. (Business, Science or Engineering is desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ work experience with at least 3 - 5 years Strategic Sourcing or relevant experience. Preferred category experience includes: Consulting Services, IT Services, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Supplier Resource Management (SRM), Value Access and Pricing.Prior Consulting category experience in the Life Sciences industry preferred.
  • Expertise in procurement processes and methodology, technology and Source- to- Pay processes (experience w/ Ariba a plus), Contract and Supplier analysis and management, Financial analysis and score carding, market and value chain analysis, supplier diversity, strategic planning and integrated supply chain,
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with and manage internal stakeholders at all levels within a highly matrixed organization, working across cross-functional, cross-organizational teams.
