Our location in Columbus, Oh , currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Shopper and Category Insights with omni responsibility for Infant & Children's Nutrition/ ITN®.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:
  • Primary responsibilities include translating consumer and shopper insights to actionable retail strategies and presentations across omni: both eCommerce and store outlets
  • Develop and implement shopper insight and category strategies based on shared brand and retailer goals across both eCommerce and bricks & mortar outlets.
  • Lead the thought leadership & vision tied to insights and trends that drive retailer growth
  • Keep pulse & communicate top retailer activity to leadership while assessing assortment actions, shelf activity (virtual or physical shelf), shopper learning plan, and competitive environment.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage custom behavioral and/ or attitudinal shopper research to address key business objectives and bring insights with activation solutions to our key stakeholders across omni: ecomm & store outlets
  • Build and maintain relationships with Sales, Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Brand, and Retail customers through objective detailed analysis, insight development and presentation
  • Develop strategic retail plans and shopper-based learning plans that align brand and customer objectives. Guide cross-functional team as they turn the strategies into actions.
  • Project Leader for national shopper and category initiatives driving actionable programs for Retail Sales, Shopper Marketing and Category Management.
  • Identify new business opportunities aligned to customer and Abbott Nutrition objectives based on category analytics, trends analysis, and insights understanding

  • Proven track record of being results driven.
  • Strong ability to influence using data/ insights to guide teams and customer to maximum impact and drive business ROI through activation of insights
  • Sense of curiosity & urgency to deepen our understanding of shoppers, category & retailer landscape
  • Sense of ownership to be the subject matter expert and lead insights via retailer partnerships & suppliers
  • Demonstrate strategic & analytical mindset to 1) clarify the business question 2) uncover the insight that leads to the solution and 3) communicate effectively the activation to drive the business forward


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of related experience in consumer/ shopper insights/ category experience
  • Candidates need to have advanced knowledge of shopper insights, retail landscape, assortment strategies, and merchandising tactics with the ability to identify and report findings, opportunities, and make recommendations.
  • Candidates should have experience working on multiple priorities across multiple customers simultaneously and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: balancing data/ analytics with the art of qualitative feedback
  • Candidates must have the ability to represent Abbott and partner with/ present to the customer at multiple levels to become a trusted, reliable resource.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Prefer candidates have proficient level knowledge of: Nielsen, Numerator, IRI, 84.51, household panel, Rakuten, OCR, 1010, Profitero, JDA, ProSpace, etc. High use of Powerpoint, Excel [incl. pivot tables, macros, etc.], Access, BI/Data Visualization Tools) (Not a mandatory)
