Responsible and accountable for the Echo Lab. Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and their operational functions. Assists along with other Echo Lab staff, in developing and revising Echo Lab policies, procedures and protocols. Assures compliance with accreditation standards and maintain lab accreditation. Responsible for providing ultrasound imaging of patient's heart; assisting physicians with the diagnosis of patient. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Participation in Compliance and other important training is a condition of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Performs Transthoracic Echocardiograms that accesses heart functions, wall motion abnormalities and abnormal valve velocities. Assists and performs transesophageal echocardiograms
  • Performs Stress Echo and Dobutamine Stress Echo tests
  • Enters data and maintains a variety of reports, files and records to ensure accuracy and may assist with basic clerical functions as requested
  • Assists with maintaining departmental equipment and reports malfunctions to appropriate staff
  • Responsible for completing basic competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an Accredited Ultrasound Program and ARDMS eligible
  • ARRT (Ultrasound) or ARDMS; Current BLS Certification
  • 1+ years of experience in the healthcare/hospital environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills
