The Role at a Glance:

We are excited to bring on a Senior Developer to our Group Protection Solutions team to work in our Dover, New Hampshire based office or from home.

Background Details:

As Lincoln Financial Group continues through its technology transformation Journey, our Group Protection Solutions team is leading the way. As part of this GP IT team, this senior developer will help to design and implement a best in business Group Protection Claims Solutions. Lincoln's Claims and Group Protection Businesses are evolving and embracing technology transformation across the board, and in this role, you will help create the roadmap for how solutions are architected and implemented for years to come. What you'll be doing:

  • Provide governance of technical and business best practices for GP and help to remove roadblocks
  • Help the effectiveness of individuals and/or teams through coaching, improving engineering practices, standards, innovation etc.
  • Exhibits, fosters, and cares for solution quality and efficacy
  • Practice and drive engineering practices such as DevOps (CI/CD; you build it, you own it), 12-factor design, independent architecture
  • Champion lean-Agile and DevOps principles and practices while supporting a culture of innovation and continuous learning
  • Help to support and maintain a professional culture within the team, where individuals take ownership and focus on delivering excellence, quality and value for the customer and business
  • Understand the technology roadmap & how it ties back to work being executed on


What we're looking for:

Must-haves:
  • 5-7+ years of professional experience developing applications in a Java framework
  • Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful web services
  • Experienced Spring Boot (Java), Angular 2+ or React.js
  • Experienced with tools such as Atlassian, Tomcat, Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence, New Relic, and Slack, to drive operations and collaboration
  • Experience with working within a fully dedicated Agile team
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering


Nice-tohaves:
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps #
  • The ability to own and managing the full lifecycle of web applications; from designing, writing, testing, building, deploying, monitoring
  • Familiarity with Oracle, Postgres, AWS
