Position Summary

Senior Accountant roles within Business and Finance Services General Accounting Team (Record to Report) in Tampa, Florida will provide support to Global Intercompany Activity. The General Accounting Team partners with Accenture as an outsourced service provider for many general accounting activities - accordingly many aspects of the roles will require interaction with and review and management of work performed offshore by Accenture.

The successful applicant must possess an extremely high attention to detail and be able to work collaboratively with key internal and external customers. They will need to demonstrate flexibility, be open-minded and adaptable to changing business needs and requests. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information, be an effective decision maker and planner and be able to offer and deliver superior business solutions. The candidate must have ability to manage multiple tasks, be well organized, and have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding deadlines. Strong project management and leadership skills are very desirable. Strong, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are vital. The successful candidate must be a self starter, highly motivated, and work with minimal supervision.

Detailed Position Responsibilities

  • Support the Record to Report integration for company acquisitions, including but not limited to account mapping, journal entry/work instruction/account reconciliation review, integration lead for User Acceptance testing and key point of contact during stabilization
  • Work with tax, legal, CFR and our Technical Accounting team to review and provide guidance on US GAAP accounting for mergers, reorganizations, liquidations.
  • Act as liaison between Record to Report Operations, Global Process Owners, and our Service Delivery Leads to support activities such as process improvements, mergers/acquisitions, and normal day-to-day activities.
  • Communication of known issues to business partners and work with the business, Accenture and the GPO/IT teams to identify & implement the optimal solution
  • Perform monthly quality reviews for North America balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure key controls supporting balance sheet processes are operating effectively and reconciliations are of a high quality
  • Complete Quarterly Balance Sheet Flux and Account Analysis to ensure appropriate reported balances and to provide support for quarterly earnings releases and 10Q filings
  • I dentify, test and implement ongoing process improvements and accounting related to new product launches
  • Support team members on special projects and other areas such as payroll accounting, PO analysis, Interco accounting, Restructuring accounting and month-end close when needed


Desired Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred; MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years diversified experience in accounting or finance.
  • Public accounting with a big four firm or Internal Audit with large Corporation a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP is required. SAP, Hyperion and Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Intercompany Activities
  • Experience with Quarter End/Year End Close Process
  • Spanish/Portuguese knowledge a plus
