Nurse Practitioner - GI- Torrance

Responsibilities

Join our UCLA Health- Torrance Practice as a Nurse Practitioner for our GI Service:

The Nurse Practitioner will support the GI providers in the clinic and with in-basket messages.
The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate 'standardized procedures' (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). Provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals. Document services rendered. Maintains efficient patient flow within the clinic. Works closely with Department leadership in the development and implementation of physician support services.

Qualifications
  • Active CA RN and CA NP license - required
  • MSN/DNP with a NP specialty (AGACNP, AGPCNP, FNP, Adult NP) -required
  • National Certification in NP specialty -required
  • Previous GI experience- required (2 years GI experience- preferred)
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a NP -required
  • BLS certification from ARC or AHA-required
  • Position primarily based in Torrance; may need to travel to other clinics as necessary
