This Procurement System Administrator Data Coordinator position is required to handle billing automation activities as well as producing standard monthly reporting. Positions in this function include those responsible for running and executing all automation tools and databases which are built to help streamline billing processes. Positions in this function may also be responsible for helping centralize automation functions, documenting job aids around the execution of those functions, and performing quality control around those automation tools.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at 2540 East St, Concord, 94520.

This role will require a candidate to be technically savvy with regards to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access, executing macros, running of screen scrapes, scripts and basic skills around visual basic.

Positions in this function include those responsible for providing process and operational support to the functions within Business Operations Family. Positions in this function may also be responsible for quality reporting, analysis and audits, and for developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement using applicable tools.

If selected for this position, it is required that you successfully complete the UnitedHealth Group new hire training and demonstrate proficiency to continue in the role.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with multiple Customers to help streamline processes and develop automation efficiencies
  • Works with Developers to create new tools, databases, scripting, macros, reports, etc.
  • Assists with developing automation and reporting processes, including testing and providing feedback in order to launch a process
  • Organizes and prioritizes day to day activities in order to meet all automation and reporting deliverables in a timely manner
  • Performs quality control and analysis on automation and reporting activities to ensure accuracy
  • Develops job aids and process documentation for newly developed processes related to automation and reporting
  • Coordinates and leads conference calls with Customers and Developers for clarification and streamlining automation processes and reporting activities
  • Troubleshoots issues that may arise with automation and reporting tools
  • Triaging ad hoc requests from Customers related to automation and reporting
  • Analyzes and applies denials to third party carriers in all media types.
  • Supports Customers in multiple functional areas, such as Third Party denials and Remittance Application/Cash Posting, while managing a large portfolio of processes for these areas
  • Complies with departmental Business Rules and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Focuses efforts on decreasing the Accounts Receivable, increasing cash, and/or reducing bad debt.
  • Utilizes automation tools to verify eligibility, claim status and/or to obtain better billing information.
  • Creates worklist through Access database and manipulate data to analyze for trends and resolve claims for adjudication.
  • Reviews and researches denied claims by navigating multiple computer systems and platforms, in order to accurately capture data/information for processing.
  • Communicates and collaborates with members or providers to evaluate claims errors/issues, using clear, simple language to ensure understanding.
  • Works on various other projects as needed.
  • Meets the performance goals established for the position in the areas of: efficiency, accuracy, quality, patient and client satisfaction and attendance.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of previous data analytics experience
  • 1+ years of Experience with an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system
  • Ability using computer and Windows PC applications, such as Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, modify and send correspondence), Microsoft Excel (ability to create, modify and send spreadsheets), Microsoft Word (ability to create, modify and send documents), instant message, video conferencing.
  • Keyboard and navigation skills and ability to learn new computer programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and basic formulas)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access (ability to create, modify and send data)
  • Basic familiarity with SQL programming
  • Experience executing macros and scripts
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
  • Medical terminology acumen and experience
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Inventory materials management experience
  • Experience with Visual Basic
