Job Summary
We are looking for a savvy Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team within Enterprise Solutions in Philadelphia, PA. If you are excited to work with a tightly knit team of software development engineers solving hard problems the right way using cutting-edge technologies integrating cloud and non-cloud applications and building enterprise application solutions, this opportunity is for you. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for the architecting, designing, development and delivery of the software application that powers customer grade experience for HR, Benefits, Onboarding, Facilities, Procurement, Finance etc. We are a collaborative group that works with a variety of other teams including business partners, vendors, testers, product leads and others in an Agile environment.
Job Description

Core Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
  • Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.
  • Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.
  • Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
  • Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • 5+ years of data integrations, APIs, ESB and/or application development experience for Enterprise applications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science / Information Systems (or similar area of study)
  • Grounded experience in both data and application integrations between on-prem to Cloud, Cloud-to-Cloud and on-prem-to-on-prem platforms.
  • Technical expertise and experience in using a wide array of integration methods including SOAP, REST, Microservices, GraphQL, DataGraph etc.
  • Solid experience with JSON, XML, XSLT and data transformation techniques.
  • Solid understanding of various data models including relational, document-based, object oriented, object-relational, and graphical etc
  • Experience using CICD pipeline (Concourse or similar) in testing automation and software deployment
  • Knowledge of using Python, Java, JavaScript
  • Experience in agile development methodologies, e.g. Scrum, Kanban
  • Business and technical knowledge in Workday HCM & Procurement provisioning will be a plus
  • Experience with MuleSoft or other API management platforms will be a plus
  • Ability to rapid prototyping solution and mock ups.
  • Good communicator, ability to analyze complex issues E2E and clearly articulate both issues and technologies understandably and engagingly.
  • Great design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for architecting at scale.
  • Strong self-motivation and willing to take ownership.
