Associate Scientist III, In Vivo Research

About This Role

Biogen is seeking a highly motivated and experienced associate scientist to join the Comparative Medicine (CM) team within Translational Biology. CM provides veterinary, training, and study support for Biogen’s broad neuroscience portfolio and dynamic in vivo research needs. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work in a results-driven, fast-paced and collaborative team environment. The individual will be part of an integrated team that is dedicated to in vivo study support.

Primary responsibilities include the planning and execution of complex in vivo studies, data analysis and interpretation, and presentation of findings to internal project teams. Skilled in vivo technical work, with an emphasis on surgical methods in neurological rodent models is required.

What You’ll Do

· Lead and coordinate complex In Vivo studies

· Collect and manage data

· Perform advanced CNS dosing techniques (ie- p0 ICV,stereotactic surgery, IT, ICM)

· Basic rodent dosing (PO, SQ, IP, IV)

· Collect specialized CNS (brain regions, spinal cord) and muscle tissues

· Participate in high priority projects across Research

Required Skills

· Planning and execution of complex In Vivo studies

· Strong communication and organization

· Exceptional In Vivo technical skills

· Attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team setting.

· Knowledge of protocol generation and basic scientific principles

· Ability to train others on basic in vivo techniques

Preferred Skills

· Advanced In Vivo dosing techniques, especially p0 ICV

· Rodent Surgical experience, especially stereotactic surgery or IT dosing

Biogen’s US Alzheimer’s Franchise is looking to recruit proven and ambitious sales achievers with at least five years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, med device/capital equipment, and/or biotech sales.
In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
