About This Role

Maintains and troubleshoots all process control system hardware and software (DeltaV DCS system) in support of the biopharmaceutical manufacturing process. Creates software design specifications, implements new control strategies and develops software test protocols in support of new products and processes. Fluent with various other Automation systems including Data Historian (OSI PI), Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), Batch Reporting systems. Some Responsible Engineering (RE) duties which require validation protocol review and approvals and the creation of Change Controls for modifications to these validated systems. Troubleshoots process control systems and supports manufacturing operations through an on-call rotation. Able to manage small to medium engineering projects with little direction. Work with and provide some direction to contract software engineers. Participate in multi-function teams to implement change and improve on existing processes.

System Administration Responsibilities: SSM\LSM DeltaV

  • Design, configure and support DeltaV software for small to medium process improvements
  • Troubleshoot DeltaV Software and Hardware
  • Collaboration/Communication with multiple groups and stakeholders regarding project design, project planning and troubleshooting
  • Ownership of automation change control process and validation packages
  • GMP documentation updates – Design Document & Functional Specifications
  • Build and execute automation test protocols.

Who YouAre

You love or are interested in using software design, configuration, validation and implementation to resolve complicated batch problems. You enjoy solving problems through collaboration and working on small to medium size projects start to finish.


Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Computer Sciences
  • 0-2 yearsexperience in the Biotech industry
  • Eager to learn
  • General programming experience
  • Some knowledge of DeltaV distributed control system
  • Some knowledge of cGMP and GAMP guidelines
  • Good communication, organization and planning skills
  • Comfortable collaborating with various teams – process eng; validation; quality, etc.
