Director, US XTANDI HCP Lead

The US Prostate Cancer Business is one of the largest and fastest growing businesses within Pfizer. It is anchored by a multibillion-dollar asset in XTANDI.

The XTANDI HCP Lead is a critical role on the team, owning the strategic oversight of all US HCP focused activities and will work closely with our alliance and global partners. This role will co-lead, with our Alliance Partner (Astellas) the launch planning and execution for potential new indications in nmCSPC. As lead, this role will be closely working with the sales organization and other key stakeholders like global and medical to execute critical initiatives to drive continued NHT class growth and differentiate XTANDI from competitors.

The XTANDI HCP Lead will be critical in driving decisions on strategic focus, messaging evolution, targeting and tactics of XTANDI in a highly competitive market. Continuously assessing and analyzing business trends and developing innovative approaches and solutions to ensure continued growth of XTANDI will be an important part of the role.

With a strong lifecycle plan and expanding patient population, XTANDI is a critical asset in the Oncology portfolio, delivering significant and growing revenues after 9 years in the market. As part of the growing Prostate Cancer franchise, this role offers the opportunity to be part of a quickly expanding team, experiencing multiple launches up close.

  • Strategic oversight of all HCP focused activities and counterpart to the Alliance HCP team leads. Identify, develop, and lead execution of HCP strategies and tactics to maximize growth trajectory for XTANDI.
  • Launch lead for potential new indications expected in nmCSPC.
  • Promotional lead, driving decisions around messaging evolution, new creative campaign roll out and targeting strategy, including brand segmentation. Develop new promotional materials based on customer insights, close collaboration with medical, sales colleagues as well as directly with HCPs. Work with senior managers on the team to prioritize and execute strategic and tactical plans.
  • Work with analytics colleagues to understand performance trends, identify differentiation opportunities for the brand. Develop and monitor key metrics to evaluate initiatives and make relevant adjustments.
  • Develop presentations for management and internal stakeholders on brand priorities, opportunities, and threats. Key contributor to Tactical Plans, Operating Plans and POA presentations.
  • Lead through transformation with changing go-to-market model and expanding sales force responsibility as franchise grows.
  • Owner of HCP AOR agency relationship, managing budget, SOWs and Alliance review processes.

  • 10+ years of experience with 7+ years commercial/marketing experience
  • US pharma experience
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with ability to obtain and evaluate data to identify insights and develop effective strategies & tactics based on these insights
  • Ability to navigate internal organization/ processes to achieve endorsement of innovative approaches
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement and of influencing business outcomes across diverse functional boundaries, even without direct reporting relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate a One Pfizer approach and work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment with internal/external stakeholders
  • BA/BS - degree required

  • At least 5 years of HCP marketing preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Strong familiarity with US marketing landscape including HCP's, medical groups/integrated delivery networks, payers
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Copromote and launch experience are a plus
