US Comirnaty Innovation Trailblazer & Social Media Lead


Pfizerand BioNTech's COVID vaccine (COMIRNATY)isFDA approved in the U.S for ages 16+ and transitioningfrom Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to commercial launchfor other age groups. The U.S.launch is critical to the future success of our Vaccines BU. In addition, COVID has multiple future launches in theU.S.including pediatric & boosters.

TheU.S. Consumer Innovation Trailblazer & Social Media Lead will be responsible for launching business accelerating innovations that are new to Pfizer, along with leadership of a dynamic social media Community for U.S. Consumers across Adult and Pediatric segments, post Comirnaty BLA Approval.

This highly collaborative colleague will concept, create and champion Comirnaty innovation strategy, program development and launches, and will develop, lead and manage a two-way social presence for the brand. The ideal candidate thrives on innovatively conquering business challenges, thinks conceptually, quickly sizes up opportunities and masterfully executes. This colleague will work on various projects simultaneously (both big and small) in partnership with the team's functional leads as well as PR and Advocacy leads. This role reports to the U.S. Comirnaty Consumer Team Lead.

The candidate will join a team that operates in an environment that embraces and encourages innovative ideas and creates a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

  • Leverage brand positioning, consumer insights to develop an innovation roadmap for opportunity areas that align with the Comirnaty business strategy
  • Lead experimentation with emerging technologies to identify applications for existing and new consumers and challenge established thinking to solve brand issues in innovative ways
  • Develop and launch a dynamic and meaningful branded social media community, including Social Content Creator strategy and execution
  • Identify current and anticipate future market opportunities for and competitive threats to category leadership, with a focus on digital innovation
  • Partner within brand team, extended cross functional team (including analytics, medical, legal, regulatory, safety, etc.) to identify, prioritize and secure approval for business driving innovation models and programs; Partner with PR, Advocacy leads to develop integrated efforts
  • Masterfully execute full program from overall concept to smallest details, including budget management
  • Analyze impact of innovation initiatives, generate early learnings, and drive continuous improvement (failing forward when necessary)
  • Chart new paths forward and new processes to allow for efficient and timely approvals of novel ideas
  • Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, with a strong adherence to our Values including compliance
  • Exhibit a high performance, values driven approach to develop strategies, identify opportunities and manage key issues to achieve revenue objectives

  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience required with proven success launching innovation from inception to in-market
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred
  • Visionary who 'connects the dots' around the business and customer insights, and articulates concepts and thoughtful solutions in a clear and compelling way
  • Highly analytical, motivated, decisive thought leader with excellent executional skills
  • Strategic mind with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and influence multiple decision makers (strong cross functional team management)
  • 'Change agent' attitude; constantly (yet responsibly) pushing brand to new opportunities, approaches, ideas, perspectives
