Global Head of Science, Early Development

Job Overview:

Labcorp Drug Development is currently recruiting for a Global Head of Science, Early Development to join their team. Reporting to the VP Global Safety Drug Development, the incumbent will lead and develop several global scientific groups including; Nonclinical Pharmacology, Safety Assessment, Genetic Toxicology, Immunology and Immunotoxicology, Early Development Cell and Gene Therapy, Ocular, and Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology.

This is an office-based opportunity and the incumbent can be based at any of our Early Development locations; Indianapolis, IN / Madison, WI / Greenfield, IN.

Additional responsibilities include;
  • Identify and support delivery of new scientific innovation/strategy
  • Ensure commercial success and accountability for meeting financial targets and overall company growth
  • Network across the enterprise to harmonize scientific processes and lead proposals for major investments for both internal expansions and potential acquisitions
  • Early Development Member of the Labcorp Drug Development Science Council
  • Serve on client executive governance teams and interface with senior/executive level leadership
  • Develop and lead a global scientific team, provide training, and sure that scientists have required expertise to excel


Education/Qualifications:

  • PhD in a Life Science or related discipline or DVM degree
  • DABT or related scientific certification


Experience:

  • 20 years of industry experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting early development with a pharmaceutical company or CRO
  • Broad toxicology and pharmacology expertise and experience with cutting edge innovation supporting new drug development
  • Previous experience in biologics development, cell and gene therapy, is highly desired
  • Expertise in strategic planning for organic investments and acquisitions
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and submissions
  • Proven leadership experience supporting a global team
