Medical Data Stewardship & Reporting - Global (Director)


This role will play a key role in the Data Stewardship & Reporting team to deliver on the team vision outlined below.

We will enable Biopharma Medical Affairs with the power and access to high quality data and analytics. This colleague will steward and deliver HCP data on behalf of the Medical Affairs functions to:

1) ensure quality, standardization, and access to the data, and

2) provide actionable reporting solutions for all Medical Affairs functions across all BU. The individual will strategically collaborate with senior business leaders, Medical Operations Partners (MOPs), and other Biopharma Ops Leadership, and select other Leads from across partner functions (Digital, BAI, and other functions) to operationalize and standardize delivery of standard HCP reporting, HCP identification, metrics and dashboards.

The role will apply extensive delivery knowledge to partner with the Service Design Owner for HCP and FF Data Stewardship & Reporting as well as Bold Move Design Owners as needed to support and enable service improvements for NA within this service vertical.

Key Attributes:

Accountable for delivering HCP and FF Data Stewardship & Reporting remit in support of Medical Affairs while applying skills and knowledge to enhance service delivery continuity and quality

Responsible for:
  • Provision of standard Data, Analytics and Reporting services for Medical Affairs
  • Management of Data Quality, especially HCP Data
  • Development of Data Quality and Standardization Strategies, especially HCP Data
  • Enabling HCP analytics and profiling to support Medical Affairs needs

Enables Service Design Owner(s) allocated to Patient & HCP Marketing Enablement to implement service improvements that ensure a positive customer experience

Reports to HCP and FF Data Stewardship & Reporting Service Vertical Lead of Biopharma Ops


Drives business to deliver data stewardship / customer facing reporting services for Medical Affairs :
  • Scope includes all Medical Affairs needs across BUs and geographies
  • Lead the delivery of robust, standardized data / reporting solutions to Medical Affairs teams and leadership
  • Management of self-service tools (e.g. dashboards, reports) for Medical Affairs teams to enable on-demand access to data and analytics.
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders (Sr. director and above) across the organization
  • Create strategic capability roadmaps and execution plans
  • Formulate solutions which require alignment of large multidisciplinary, cross functional teams comprised of director level colleagues
  • Applies technical, line and business knowledge to influence the strategic direction of data stewardship services
  • Partner with data providers, digital (SMART), Pfizerworks (Tableau) and other platform parties as needed
  • Lead requirements & change management for reporting solutions and solicit from key stakeholders where applicable
  • Ensure timely delivery and self-service access to metrics and reporting via platform solutions

Oversees data quality and compliance for Medical Affairs customer facing reporting:
  • Manages data quality to effectively provide business decision support
  • Develops strategies to ensure continued data quality
  • Identifies data-related risks and monitors effectively to mitigate them
  • Ensures all colleagues and contractors are Pfizer compliant, and all solutions and reporting meet the governance, legal and compliance needs for Medical Affairs
  • Serve as the escalation point for data quality-related work on a daily basis
  • Provides leadership and development to ensure expectation and high standard of service delivery is met alongside building a highly engaged and motivated team
  • Develops core KPIs, quality frameworks and monitors / track service delivery and inputs into overall goals
  • Identifies and monitors risks effectively to manage risks within the team

Exercises independent judgement to improve opportunities for Enablement service delivery through increases in efficiency and scale:
  • Improves quality, consistency (One Pfizer), and compliance across BUs and countries
  • Streamlines and scales systems across markets and BUs with central support
  • Develops innovative or original ideas for HCP data stewardship initiatives
  • Acts independently on self-initiated data stewardship projects
  • Identifies needs for innovation or operational support
  • Takes appropriate / compliant risks to advance innovative processes and methodologies for complex problems
  • Drives transformation: standardization, optimization and automation towards higher efficiency, better service quality, and faster solution provisioning
  • Fosters strong connections outside the Pfizer network to benchmark Pfizer work and keep abreast of best practices
  • Leverages approved Biopharma Operations tools and platforms to enable and standardize service delivery including but not limited to On Demand, On Demand Service Request Tool and others
  • Ensures all service delivery meets agreed in place quality plans in collaboration with CQO and HR Global Compensation to meet compliance policies, guidelines and procedures

Defines priorities and allocates resources to drive efficient and effective client engagement:
  • Forecasts and plans resource requirements for projects across Data Stewardship & Reporting
  • Possesses a deep understanding of Medical Affairs business landscapes and BU strategies to determine key priorities and their impact on Data Stewardship & Reporting activities
  • Proactively engages with Medical Ops Partners (MOPs) and BU leads to understand and 1) ensure alignment of Biopharma Ops' client strategies for Medical Affairs and 2) determines optimal resource allocation and investment that enables efficient and high-quality HCP engagement
  • Manages his/her budget to ensure service delivery commitment and financial expectations are met
  • Will align, contribute to and implement the new Data Stewardship & Reporting Design capabilities that are part of the vertical roadmap and strategy

  • BA Required; MBA or equivalent Master's-level education preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry, preferably with a good understanding of Medical Affairs
  • Proficient in strategic data management: organizing, understanding, consolidating, and distributing complex data sets from diverse sources
  • Fluency in English required
