Department Overview

At TD Securities, the Commercial and Specialty Syndications function is an integral part of the full suite of services we offer under Investment Banking. Our Investment Banking professionals provide corporate clients with capital markets and banking advice and transaction execution.

Job Description

The Associate works with deal teams and is responsible for preparation of and participation in client proposals and pitches, deal execution, industry research, database maintenance, internal approvals and presentations.

Job Requirements

• Work closely with senior team members to:
- provide support in the review of new lead agency opportunities presented by the Middle Market (companies with $75.0MM to $500.MM of Revenues) and Commercial Real Estate Lines of Business ("LOB") at TD Bank and, in conjunction with the senior officers, opine on and devise key syndication terms including deal economics/fees and distribution strategy in order to achieve a successful syndication
- provide LOB, Risk Management and Credit Management with information on current conditions and trends in the syndicated loan market
- participate in the execution of all syndications where TD is the lead or has a significant role, which includes developing confidential information memorandums for distribution to bank groups, conducting due diligence, maintaining deal sites on IntraLinks, reviewing loan documents, assisting with closing and funding, as well as on post-closing amendments, waivers and reporting
- prepare client and prospect pitch presentations in collaboration with senior team members, relationship management and other partners
- update and maintain the Commercial Real Estate, Public Finance/Not-for Profit and Fee databases and the production of periodic updates on market trends and conditions


• Undergraduate degree
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience
