This position presents the opportunity for successful candidates to receive training in clinical trial contracting and to develop skills that open possibilities for a long-term career path within the clinical research industry.

While experience in the CRO or pharmaceutical industry will always be favorably considered, candidates need not have direct experience in clinical contracting activities, but must present the skills and aptitude to undertake the preparation and negotiation of complex agreements. In lieu of experience in the CRO industry, previous experience in contract management and contract administration is preferred.

The contracting activity supported by this team is fast-paced, with short deadlines and quick turnaround times. Therefore, the candidates must be capable of managing their workload and priorities so as to meet business requirements in a timely fashion.


  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university required
  • Read, write and speak fluent English; bilingual Spanish/English highly desirable
  • Understands basic nature of contractual documents required
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Detail oriented in the midst of tight timelines highly desirable
  • Experience in contract administration or other relevant area
  • Paralegal experience highly desired
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry highly desirable
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

Among the skills required for this position are:
  • Contract Management - candidates must be able to manage documents from creation to completion including, but not limited to:
    • analysis of contract templates;
    • creating and maintaining files for each contract;
    • prioritizing daily activities according to importance and urgency;
    • adhering to department turnaround times; and
    • managing the approval and signature process for each type of contract.
  • Drafts and reviews contractual agreements
  • Produces error free documents, approved according to PRA procedure for presentation to corporate officers for signature
  • Receives inquiries throughout the process and responds in a timely manner
  • Tracks and timely records developments using PRA systems on a regular basis towards contract completion
  • Provides timely communication with legal team members, business development teams and other internal/external clients
  • Proactively identifies contract-related risks and potential roadblocks, and escalates problems for resolution as needed
  • Collaborates with other functional areas as needed to ensure contract deliverables are completed according to established timelines and department procedures
  • Assists in development and implementation of new initiatives and negotiation/execution processes
  • Researches current regulations and prepares contract materials
