Inside Sales Support Clerk

Are you looking for a new and exciting career? WGL is seeking an Inside Sales Support Clerk to support Business Development growth objectives by educating and informing customers on the natural gas service installation process.

You Will

  • Evaluate and respond to electronic applications, inquiries from customers, contractors, dealers and employees about the availability of natural gas for residential conversions, light commercial projects and other projects as assigned.
  • Serve as front line contact and customer advocate during the initial sales process review of new business e-mail inquiries.
  • Respond on-line to customer inquiries and reviews service request application paperwork and contacts customer for clarification to ensure data accuracy and product cost factors.
  • Set up new business project job jackets, including but not limited to printing of Service Request Applications, SmallWorld prints and other related documents.
  • Enter key data into tracking systems such as SmallWorld, WMIS and SalesForce and assigns to the Inside Sales Representatives.
  • Maintain contact with internal and external customers (general public and others) related to gas service installation until job jacket is created and assigned to an Inside Sales Representative.
  • Maintain records in various tracking databases to ensure accuracy of departmental weekly, monthly or annual reports.
  • Track SAP Clarification Cases and assigns to appropriate department personnel for correction.

Must Have

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of customer service or sales experience in high volume, product driven, customer focused environment.
  • Six (6) months probationary period with successful evaluation.
  • Must successfully pass a Writing Skills Evaluation Assessment.
  • A basic understanding and working knowledge of natural gas and electrical applicances and gas line installation and techniques preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Customer Management Systems (Salesforce), SmallWorld and Work Management systems (WMIS) preferred.
