Job Description
The Field Merchandising Manager (FMM) is responsible for leading and executing merchandising tactics that support strategic category goals in their geographic areas of responsibility. Additionally, this position is responsible for the communication and execution of the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) businesses at our CVS Pharmacy locations across the continental United States.
As a key member of the Merchandising Team at CVS, the Field Merchandising Manager works closely with their Merchandising Colleagues as well as key stakeholders in Store Operations, Store Design, Finance, and other cross-functional disciplines within the organization. The FMM is also the key connection between Merchandising and Field Operations and must clearly communicate Company and Category strategies and plans to the operations teams

Required Qualifications
• Five to ten years experience in Category Management/CPG Merchandising or Marketing with a multi-market retailer
• Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable strategies, and tactical plans.
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
• Results driven, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong cross-boundary abilities with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Ability to travel

COVID Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated Ability to Build and Develop customized merchandising Plans to Drive Business

- Partner with Category Managers to ensure that the strategic goals of the categories are supported by all marketing and merchandising programs.
- Develop unique merchandising programs that support corporate strategies and goals while also serving the unique needs of their geographic territories.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new businesses, categories, and items related to specific territories when strategically appropriate
- Optimize item mix, in stock position, sales and gross margin in the development and maintenance of Regional Programs

Strong Communication and the ability to manage up and down

-Negotiate and manage local vendor relationships with territory specific suppliers.
-Build and maintain consistency of our DSD supply channel partners through strong regional partnerships and distributor sourcing and supply chain.

Communicate and execute category merchant strategic plans in partnership with Field Operations

-Maintain positive trade relations and while ensuring adherence to service standards for DSD businesses
-Attend Division Meetings to go over results, new programs, handle issues and build a bridge between merchandising and operations.

Active Track record of Improved Execution Performance
The ability to Identify opportunities and tailor programming to close any gaps and maximize positive financial performance.

Maintain competitive analysis, including competitive store and market visits.
Continually monitor and evaluate competition to assess impact on CVS business while developing and adjusting strategies to win in the market.

Education
Bachelor's degree in business, Management, Economics, Marketing, Finance or years of directly related experience will be considered.
