Senior Maintenance Technician


What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will under limited supervision, execute sophisticated maintenance activities assigned to inspection and packaging equipment in accordance with established guidelines and operating procedures. Core responsibility will be to provide maintenance and repairs to the client's process manufacturing equipment. Conduct intermediate troubleshooting and employ sophisticated predictive technologies to identify root cause and appropriate corrective actions to diagnose or avert equipment problems.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify, and resolve, all problems related to the process equipment and where possible minimize equipment downtime. Execute sophisticated maintenance activities, or operate and supervise complex plant support equipment, with ability to investigate complex issues or problems.
  • Assist the team with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system for the equipment/systems the team is responsible for.
  • Ensure that operational log paperwork, daily log files, and work order documentation is completed with accurate information.
  • All work must be completed aligning with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, job plans and Amgen policies. Maintain an up-to-date cGMP training book.
  • Develop, revise, and review SOPs or job plans/work plans for work related areas.
  • Evaluate the current maintenance procedures and assist in the changes to optimize the maintenance program.
  • Perform intermediate troubleshooting of utility, process, and HVAC related equipment/ systems.
  • Plan and schedule own work activities with operations staff to minimize impact to production activities.
  • Provide basic support of start-up of new equipment to ensure it meets all mechanical design specifications.
  • Review utility, process system/equipment, plumbing, ductwork plans, architectural, and HVAC P&ID's.

Basic qualifications:

Associate degree & 4 years of maintenance experience


High school diploma & 6 years of maintenance experience

Beyond that, the additional preferred qualifications are:

  • Educational Background in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or related field.
  • Work Experience in a GMP regulated industry
  • Good communicate skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate expertise in two or more advanced maintenance technologies and understand how to apply technology to improve equipment reliability (alignment, balancing, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, electric motor circuit analysis, metrology or vibration monitoring).
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams.
  • Knowledgeable of one or more of the following technical areas: Utility Plant Operations/ Maintenance, Process Equipment/ System Maintenance, HVAC Operations/ Maintenance, or Fire System / Maintenance.
  • Machine Shop and welding experience.
  • HVAC Balancing, Air Handler maintenance & troubleshooting (HVAC License Preferred).
  • Acknowledge in CMMS (MAXIMO system) or similar computerized maintenance management system (Preferred).
