The Plant Operator - NHLW Grease maintains operational efficiency of plant by executing properly sequenced operations to facilitate fluid operations as well as maintaining and completing preventative maintenance requirements.

  • Perform complete inspection including but not limited to checking pump inspection, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls
  • Monitor entire process of receiving processing and dispatching of material
  • Climbs in and out of sludge box to perform cleaning procedures between batch processes
  • Uses hand controls to operate pumps and hose
  • Using a pump hose and water hose, pumps grease out of holding tank and other commercial tanks.
  • Cleans / rinses tank with a water hose
  • Maintains safe operation and clean appearance of plant by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations
  • Cleans sludge box interior
  • Ability to perform pushing, pulling, bending, lifting of up to 75 pounds throughout each shift
  • Submit all paperwork on a scheduled timeframe to admin
  • Wash exterior and interior of plant on a bi-weekly basis
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Essential Functions


  • Minimum High School or GED or equivalent combination of education and
  • Preferred water treatment certification/license - Class D

• Successful completion of Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment State Exam
• Ability to read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the State Licensing Board and U.S. Department of Transportation

• Ability to recognize Plant maintenance needs
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
