Postdoctoral Appointee - Battery Electrolyte Materials

The position required hands-on laboratory work to synthetize new organic materials and to develop, carry out and analyze results of electrochemical tests for new lithium ion battery (LIB) electrolyte materials.

The Applied Materials Division is seeking a Postdoctoral Candidate in the area of organic chemistry and electrochemistry with focus on lithium ion battery electrolyte materials. This position will primarily involve organic synthesis lab work and electrochemical testing and analysis of new materials. Previous experience with electrochemical analysis or battery testing is required.

The candidate will design or modify laboratory procedures and protocols, develop experimental designs, run technical experiments, make detailed observations, gather and analyze data, and effectively report results.

Position Requirements

  • A degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Chemistry or related field with 0 to 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas: organic chemistry and synthesis, electrochemistry, lithium-ion batteries chemistry, battery cell testing and performance analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and on a timely basis with the laboratory supervisory personnel on all developments or matters resulting from laboratory work activities.
  • Ability to maintain organized notebooks and project files.
  • Ability to be an excellent team player.
  • A high commitment to safety.
