Head of Business Unit Marketing

Key Responsibilities
  • Owns US Insurance and Retirement (USIR) marketing strategy and planning to drive growth and improve the customer experience; member of Marketing Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and USIR Management Council
  • Responsible for harnessing the capabilities of the entire marketing organization to support the USIR business strategy for growth
  • Provides vision, leadership, and counsel to a team of Business Unit Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) who drive Marketing capability for the USIR organization
  • Delivers on business revenue by acquiring and retaining customers through maximizing use of advanced technology including digital, analytics, marketing automation, personalization and lead management
  • Responsible for customer and intermediary segmentation - defines market strategies and value propositions
  • Drives internal marketing communication and partnership with sales to influence the distribution strategy, drive campaigns and initiatives, and support annual sales goals
  • Collaborates to create multichannel measurement and attribution across customer journeys
  • Use Brand and distinct value propositions to drive market penetration (acquire and retain customers)
  • Is an advocate of customer obsession – drives priority solutions and creates impact and outcomes in the moments that matter for customers
  • Ensures a comprehensive "end-to-end" marketing strategy, mindset, and connectivity across all marketing actions
  • Proactively stays connected to trends in the marketplace and integrates those trends into marketing plans

  • Leadership experience in Financial Services industry
  • 15+ years’ experience leading a marketing team
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategies and business plans across all aspects of marketing
  • Ability to apply modern marketing techniques through multiple channels, digital and non-digital
  • Proven success in partnering in a highly matrixed environment; superior influencing skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred
