Software Developer - TERM

Develop Hydrogen Delivery Scenario Analysis Model (HDSAM) as a server-based application. Enhance and expand useability of ANL's Greenhouse gas, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Technologies (GREET®) model in both .net and Excel platforms, with possible migration to server-based application.

The software developer will work with the ANL HDSAM and GREET teams to build new features to enhance the accessibility and useability of the HDSAM and GREET models, including developing layered structure consistent with different user level experience and objectives of the model, and possible development of a web-based version of the HDSAM model or one of its subsidiaries (e.g., HDRSAM). The developer will be responsible for user interface design, building APIs, developing structured database, and expanding the tool using modular approach. The software developer must preferably be experienced with C#, .net, React, ASP.Net, and Web API, or be experienced in alternate technologies and demonstrate skills necessary to achieve the same application functionality using any alternate technologies.

The position is for 1 year and could be renewed until project completion.

Position Requirements

  • BS or MS in computer science, physical sciences, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with more than one programming language, experienced with C#, .net, React, ASP.Net, and Web API.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft excel vba and should be able to improve the code performance in alternative technologies with similar functionality.
  • Web developing experience.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with researchers in various disciplines within the group environment.
  • A successful candidate must have the ability to model Argonne's Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
