The Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide education, enrollment supportand retirement expertise to the employees of Prudential’s large defined contribution plans. The candidate selected will be responsible to engage, organize, and effectively conduct education meetings at client locations throughout their primary region and beyond. In this role you will be expected to possess the following:

  • Ability to develop strategic relationships at Centers of Influence within their assigned territory
  • Work with Communication Directors, Relationship Managers & Client Service Reps and/or client to deliver specific strategies including presentations which meet the individual needs of each employee group
  • Ability to perform effective presentations
  • Is an effective presenter to diverse groups with varied financial backgrounds
  • Is versed in defined contribution plansand the advantages of each plan regarding retirement savings.


In this role, you will be responsible for relationship building at the plan sponsor level and for motivating and influencing participant actions toward retirement preparedness through the employer sponsored retirement plans. Travel Counselors are expected to learn all plan specifics and customize presentations for any plan type in our book of business, often under time constraints. You will focus on explaining the plans provisions and investment options and work closely with the firm’s sales, relationship management, plan administration, and employee communication or marketing staff.

This role will be responsible for the Northern California region, supporting virtual education when not traveling. When working from home, you may be expected to work past 6pm PST daily.

Your Expertise

What you’ll need to succeed:
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 & 63 required at time of hire
  • Life & Health license preferred, ability to obtain within 90 days of hire otherwise
  • 5+ years of financial services experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing and education communication experience
  • Retirement industry experience
  • In depth knowledge of investment products
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Must be located in or around an area with a major airport
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish would be a plus
  • Results oriented
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed goals
