As Production Manager you will directs and coordinates production and engineering activities required for the timely manufacture of products that meet quality standards and cost objectives. Accomplishes these objectives by establishing production/planning systems, maintaining GMP, enforcing quality standards, and improving processes. This position manages and delegates authority to a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineers, and Planning/Scheduling personnel.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
  • Coordinates production activities to assure weekly delivery according to plan, maintaining Kanban levels to assure that work in process is kept at the desire level and closing production work orders to meet the established cycle time.
  • Management of staff - recruiting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities for them.
  • Communicates job expectations and plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
  • Establishes production objectives, develops budgets, controls costs, and maximizes use of assets.
  • Assists in the integration of new technology and processes.
  • Coordinates the activities of manufacturing engineers to support current and future production systems.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives by identifying efficiency opportunities, participating in plant-wide CI teams, and conducting and evaluating experiments.
  • Responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety programs in the areas under his/her control in order to provide a safe workplace for employees and in compliance with all regulations to achieve our EHS commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 8 years in a manufacturing, engineering and/or production environment.
  • Minimum of Eight (8) + years Of management experience in manufacturing, preferably in a medical device or pharmaceutical company.
  • Excellent organization, leadership, supervisory and communication skills combined with attention to details and initiative is required.
  • Must have a track record for managing teams that accomplish objectives by due dates and within budget. Capable to demonstrate continuous improvement experience with accomplishments.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish/English.
  • MS Office proficient
