This is a position within our Tax Center of Expertise for Latin America, which is focus on properly managing tax risk, filing accurate returns by avoiding penalties, meeting internal or jurisdictional tax deadlines, addressing an effective tax rate, managing efficiently resources to achieve budget targets and liaising global requirements with local regulations. This role will serve as a strategic partner for finance and business teams in the organization, to design and deliver core analytical capabilities that deliver business insights from a tax perspective that drive actionable strategic choices for the Company.

Position Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading all aspects of and handling tax activities mainly focused on Argentina, Chile & Venezuela with no local tax manager presence in coordination with the Country CFOs.
  • Develops and maintains a cohesive working knowledge of the domestic and international business operations.
  • Coordinate and Review the quarterly and annual tax provision under ASC 740 (FAS 109) and FIN48.
  • Desirable knowledge of the impact of the local Laws, Central Bank regulations, Foreign Exchange implications and Customs regulations.
  • Desirable experience on devaluation analysis and tax treatment & inflation rates with impact on projections and tax determination.
  • Manage third-party external professionals (global and local providers) and promote close collaborations with shared services centers within the organization.
  • Liaise across tax, finance, customs, treasury, legal, HR, and with external advisers to ensure compliance with local jurisdictions and assess areas of risk.
  • Manage and work with finance teams in statutory tax audits and inquiries by local Authorities.
  • Assist with maintaining global transfer pricing policies and calculations including review and implementation of transfer pricing studies, Country by Country Reporting, and other local transfer pricing documentation requirements; coordinate and review annual transfer pricing documentation.
  • Analyzes and reconciles tax accounts for unusual transactions or irregularities.
  • Monitor and develop internal controls over income tax reporting processes; ensure SOX compliance in relation to reporting controls by supporting testing and documentation processes.
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process and tax systems improvements.
  • Leverage technology to create effective calculations and financial models to supporting tax returns and provisions, dashboards and analytics.
  • Identify and lead process improvements through use of technology and innovation.
  • Mentor and coach staff members, identifies training needs and creates development plans.
  • Identifies potential tax issues, performs research, and make recommendations to resolve tax issues.
  • Responds to Federal and state tax audits and notices.
  • Mentor, lead, and manage one or more tax supervisors.

Main Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • C.P.A. License or Master Degree in Taxes preferred
  • English & Spanish skills (written, reading and speaking).
  • Validated experience in corporate and international tax laws (including transfer pricing, tax trends, etc.), technical tax expertise and tax audit management; previous experience in a Tax Consulting Firm but also have experience in a tax in-house position and advise the assigned company as a business partner, having problem-solving demeanor and deep understanding of the business requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines. Detail oriented and organized.
  • Exposure to OneSource Tax Provision software.
  • Encourage everyone to have a voice and invite opinion from all, including quieter members of the team.
  • Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
  • Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
  • Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
