An Acquisitions and Project Management Coordinator assists other Project Managers in coordinating and monitoring projects related to Facilities from initiation to delivery and ensures company resources are utilized appropriately. A Project Coordinator assists with facilitating project plans, building project schedules, attending project meetings, communicating progress related to assigned tasks, enforces quality management, and helps identify and manage risk to ensure project goals, requirements, and the other deliverables are met. The Project Coordinator ensures all project phases are documented appropriately and will identify and assist in resolving technical issues. The position is also responsible for providing analysis, performance monitoring, project planning, managing costs and reporting associated expenses.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Effectively applies Project Management methodologies and enforces project standards. Minimizes exposure and risk on a project
  • Ensures timely completion of project level tasks. Works with the project manager to identify required resources and assigns individual responsibilities
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Ensures that project documents are current and complete, as well as appropriately managed and stored
  • Assists in and contributes to the creation and execution of project plans and meets changing requirements and needs
  • Monitors day-to-day operational activities relevant to project timelines and reports issues through Project Managers concerning effective completion
  • Assists with project oversight and reports information related to the budget and invoice reconciliation back to the project manager
  • Assists in and contributes to the development of process improvements, related to Facility Management projects
  • Contributes to content and status updates reported through Project Management team
  • Communicates with cross-functional project teams within real estate services and amid other departments
  • Understands how to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully. Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors at all levels of the organization
  • Proactively works with the project manager to manage changes in project scope, identify any potential barriers or issues and devises contingency plans to mitigate concerns
  • Participates in and contributes to team meetings effectively
  • Keeps Project Team informed of changes within the Project - provides project related updates to the team
  • Assists with developing and monitoring of project plans for identified key issues, problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources
  • Contributes to and provides systematic reporting of daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports to support key departmental and corporate initiatives
  • Assists with document management pertaining to assigned processes: process workflows, revisions and development of policies and procedures, scope management, lessons observed, etc.
  • Assists the project manager with vendor management efforts, as required
  • Expectation of approximate 30-40% of travel time under "normal, non-pandemic" operating environment; Wellmed oversees facilities projects in New Mexico, Florida, and throughout Texas
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • Current Driver's License
  • 5+ years of project management experience including development and execution
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management including tools and techniques
  • Familiar with process engineering methodologies
  • Proficiency with developing requirements and performing systematic analysis
  • Computer literacy that includes Microsoft Windows and Office Suite environment (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Outlook, Share Point, and Business Maps)
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare experience (some working knowledge of The Joint Commission and Environment of Care standards)
