VMware Renewal Specialist

The Renewal Specialist focuses on using sales and technical skills to close all assigned renewal opportunities. They proactively contact current CDW customers and will detail all renewal, upsell, and cross-sell product options. The Renewal Specialist works with Account Managers, Licensing Specialists, and manufacturer vendor representatives in maximizing CDW performance on renewals.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • 70% of time is spent managing transactional operations of renewals
    • Respond to email or phone inquiries from Account Managers and customers regarding their expiring products
    • Manage lead lists/renewal portals to maximize time, effort and sales
  • 30% of time is spent proactively consulting with customers and Account Managers to close renewal opportunities
    • Identify new business opportunities and consult with Account Managers and other Product Specialists
    • Develop business relationships with Account Managers
    • Work with other Product Specialists to better serve customers
    • Respond to renewal inquiries from Account Managers
    • Attend Vendor specific and Renewal Specialist related trainings
    • Maintain business relationships with assigned manufacturer

  • Manage pipeline of quotes/orders
  • Develop innovative, new ways to reach renewable opportunities
  • Work hand in hand with the sales and licensing specialists to help drive sales
  • Be responsive to Account Managers and customers
  • Attend Comdex events, participate in vendor floor days and trainings
  • Attend external trainings and conferences (Manager's approval)
  • Ability to travel

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three plus yrs experience in Sales or Sales Support
  • College Degree or equivalent experience

Other Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Proven success in working enterprise opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional relationship with all departments.
  • Ability to develop and give oral presentations to both large and small groups
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask
  • Must have strong problem solving skills
  • Time-management skills are required, as well as the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Ability to prioritize work and work accurately under pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to contribute to and execute on a territory plan
