Media Planner

The Media Planner is responsible for developing CDW and partner media plans and campaigns using various media channels. This role requires analyzing marketing metrics, research & trends, collaborating with the agency, internal stakeholders and partners to refine marketing and media objectives, developing and executing media plans, distributing advertising content to the most impactful media platforms and assisting in the measurement and analysis of various mass media tactics and programs.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Interact with internal and external partners to evaluate, implement, maintain and execute CDW's media plan.
  • Develop various options for media plans based on CDW and partner objectives.
  • Present media plans to key stakeholders, including partners.
  • Maintain campaign tracking mechanisms and analyze post-campaign results and recommend refinements.
  • Utilize CDW financial systems and processes for budget planning, bill reconciliation, invoice management, purchase authorizations and other appropriate financial management activities.
  • Analyze data, think creatively and design innovative strategies to make sure we understand the target audience and that CDW and partner marketing campaigns reach their target audience in the most effective way possible.
  • Assess the impact and suitability of different media types used to target certain markets based on CDW and partner objectives and capabilities.
  • Oversee management and implementation of various targeting techniques and assess their efficacy.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and partners to understand their needs and objectives to assess and determine which media channels best fit their specific strategies and campaigns.
  • Recommend and create media strategies to attract and retain customers, increase brand recognition and perception to grow customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collect, monitor and analyze information and trends related to different media channels, such as newspapers, radio, magazines, television, films, digital, and out of home, as well as shifts and trends in reaching target audiences.
  • Keep abreast of media trends through research and by evaluating market data.


Education and/or Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of Sales and/or Marketing/Media Planning experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Broad knowledge of media channels.
  • Working knowledge with campaign evaluation metrics and media buying.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the company including Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated history of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with IT resources such as databases and spreadsheets, for the collection and management of information.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong business acumen for statistics and math.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a track record of successfully influencing stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office 365 products (or similar).
  • History of providing outstanding customer service to stakeholders.
  • Ability to take initiative and creatively problem solve.
  • Record of successful organizational skills.
  • Understanding/appreciation for maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology product offerings and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of media analytics tools (e.g. MRI, comScore, MOAT, Nielsen IMS, iSpot.tv).
