Relationship Manager - Commercial Banking (Director)

We are currently seeking a Senior Relationship Manager (RM) with commercial banking expertise in the nonprofit industry to join the firm's Not-For-Profit Banking Group in the MId-Atlantic region. This is both a business development and relationship management position. The RM will be given revenue goals to meet each year. Revenue from various products will count towards these goals (loans, deposits, treasury management, etc.). The RM will manage these new relationships as well as existing relationships.

Target Market:
  • Nonprofit organizations with an annual operating budget above $20 million
  • Target segments include nonprofit healthcare, education and 501c3 charitable organizations

  • Develop a Not for Profit (NFP) market strategy to produce a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • By serving as the customer's main point of contact, the RM will manage and cross-sell all new and existing relationships. Annual goals will be based on closed revenue results.
  • Respond and assess RFP requests, develop a scalable process for reviewing requests
  • Serve as an industry expert for others in the Regional Commercial Bank, potentially partnering with other RMs to create a business development strategy for NFP prospects
  • Work with Credit and Underwriting to comply with all credit requirements and policy matters
  • While preparation of credit proposals and all ongoing credit monitoring is the responsibility of Underwriting, successful RMs will form close partnerships with Underwriting and Credit and remain actively involved in this process.
  • Pre-qualify all new credit opportunities. The prequalification process includes gathering initial credit packages, analyzing initial credit risk, preparing a deal "screen" memo, determining appropriate loan structure, preparing a term sheet and preparing an ROE analysis.
  • RM will also closely partner with constituent departments such as Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, etc. to address clients banking needs and deliver to clients and produce revenue.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of commercial banking experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise and knowledge within the Not for Profit industry
