About This Role

The Multiple Sclerosis Neurorepair Research Unit at Biogen is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our highly collaborative team focused on the discovery of novel therapeutics for progressive MS. The individual is expected to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, drawing on deep and current knowledge of literature. The work will involve a wide array of in vitro, in vivo, and analytical techniques using cellular and molecular approaches, and is expected to advance projects towards clinical development.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute creative and innovative research plans to address key questions for novel remyelination and neurorepair targets
  • Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments and analytics
  • Prepare, review, and deliver scientific presentations for internal and external use
  • Build strong collaborations across the Research organization at Biogen and become a key member of a cross-functional project team
  • Write reports, manuscripts and generate data packages supporting model development and drug candidate advancement

Required Skills:
  • PhD in Neurosciences or a related field. 3 years of post doctoral experience in an academic or industry setting is strongly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a successful track record proven by peer-reviewed publications in neurobiology using current technologies, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and strong understanding of variety of technologies applied to biological and genetic research are required.
  • A strong background in Neuroscience, experience with implementing animal models and characterizing phenotypes by various techniques, such as immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology, two-photon imaging and others.
  • Strong self-motivation and drive to make impactful contributions is critical.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with RNA expression profiling, proteomics, bioinformatic analyses, human iPSC or human brain anatomy is a plus.

Biogen’s US Alzheimer’s Franchise is looking to recruit proven and ambitious sales achievers with at least five years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, med device/capital equipment, and/or biotech sales.
In this field-based, specialty sales representative position you will be called upon to sell our products with key stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s Disease community: including Neurologists and allied health professionals.
