Job Description
This position is contingent upon contract award anticipated in December 2021.

BAE Systems is seeking a Database Administrator Senior Principal to support the United States Air Force's 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract. The selected applicant will join the team as we seek to deliver world-class capabilities for our client and their associated contractors, driving productivity and innovation. As the Database Administrator, you are responsible for the full software lifecycle with focus on database development. You are the focal point for design, test, implementation and delivery of database objects to fulfill customer requirements. You will work with software and determine ways to organize and store data, identify user requirements, set up computer databases, test and coordinated modifications to the computer database system, ensure the performance of the system, understand the platform on which the database runs, and add new users to the system.

Duties will include:
  • Work in agile team to design, prototype, develop, and document new product offerings and enhance existing products and tools
  • Design and develop database objects to support various applications
  • Support application teams making database designs, loading, modifying and updating data
  • Provide performance tuning of database queries and code
  • Troubleshoot application issues and data related problems
  • Work with application teams to troubleshoot connection related issues to include SSL configuration
  • Provide database administration support to the Systems Administrators including database upgrades, backups, user creation, and SSL connections
  • Understand high level business requirements and produce technical specifications, designs, documents, interface control documents, and architecture documents


Required Education, Experience, & Skills


  • BS degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of progressive, relevant experience, or and MS degree in a relevant discipline and seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline and two (2) to five (5) years or progressive experience.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT-I certification.
  • Experience working/collaborating with software engineering teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • This position requires the successful candidate to hold an Active/valid Top Secret SCI clearance.
    The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements.
    You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.
