Amgen is seeking a Senior SAP Basis Administrator to join the Global ERP team based at Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. This role includes technical leadership, oversight to global teams, project management and requires close teamwork and engagement with Technical Architects, AMS support teams and various IS and business process/project teams to efficiently deliver Amgen's Global ERP solutions in a 24X7 regulated environment. Additionally, this person must enjoy working within multi-functional teams from different business functions and various countries in a complex organization with differences in language, culture, and time zones.

Key Responsibilities are:
  • Define and drive the detailed strategy and technology roadmaps for SAP technical platform and components which includes migration from on-premise solutions to cloud solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to managed service provider (MSP) teams and serve as technical support for complex problem resolution providing support coordination
  • Lead installation, configuration, upgrades of SAP HA (clustered) systems, including Business Suite Solutions, HANA technologies, NetWeaver Solutions, Solution Manager, and third-party tools deployed on-premise and in cloud environments
  • Lead platform projects from inception to completion by applying the agile methods, leveraging DevOps processes & automation wherever applicable
  • Responsible for developing and improving system copy procedures using TDMS, LaMA, and other backup and restore methodologies, pre, and post-system refresh steps
  • Proficient in cybersecurity solutions to keep ERP systems safe and secure
  • Comprehensive experience with daily operational activities to improve the platform stability including monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and actively leading problem determination with root cause analysis
  • Support regulatory and compliance audits
  • Possess the ability to analyze situations and provide problem resolution in a collaborative way

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience with the SAP landscape (on-Prem and Cloud), specifically in installing, configuring, and supporting systems such as SAP ECC (SoH), S/4 HANA, ATTP, TM, GTS, GRC, BW, ATC, Gateway, PO, Portal, GIS, Redwood, and third-party software add-ons
  • 4 plus years of HANA and MaxDB Database administration technical skills in a large complex enterprise environment
  • Certified SAP Basis architect that can lead automation & integration capabilities of SAP Business Technology Platform including Cloud Integration, Ariba CIG, Data Intelligence, Fiori, etc.
  • Expertise in Unix administration to support high-availability cluster solutions for SAP systems (load-balancing, disaster recovery, etc.)
  • Experience in printer administration, job administration, and barcode scanner (RF Guns) administration
  • Understanding of the overall SAP enterprise system landscape, transport management, and performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Manage and administer SAP systems in the validated (GxP) and SOX environments with a proven focus on quality
  • Experience in managing and collaborating with both onshore and offshore AMS support teams
  • Good interpersonal, written, and team collaboration skills
