Tax Accountant

The Tax Accountant (Specialist) reports to the VP of Corporate Tax. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of Tax Accounting, Reporting and Compliance for assigned business units including the preparation of semi-annual and annual Tax reports for public accounting review.

This role will also work closely with other Tax team members to assist with Consolidated Tax Accounting and Compliance responsibilities.

You will be responsible for
  • Preparing/reviewing supporting work papers for the monthly, quarterly and annual tax provision including book-tax differences and deferred tax inventory.
  • Preparing and managing monthly tax account balance reconciliations.
  • Managing the collection, review and submission of all external financial auditor tax information requests for semi-annual and annual reporting purposes.
  • Coordinating Federal taxable income calculations and deferred tax validation support for assigned companies within our Consolidated group with outside consultants and review Tax return output.
  • Partnering with the Asset Management team to manage the Tax Fixed Asset inventory and prepare regular validation checks on the tax related balances.
  • Partnering with Tax team members and external financial auditors to track and ensure adequate documentation for internal and external SOX reporting purposes.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement within the Tax provision process, especially with respect to utilization of technology.
  • Providing support and written responses for IRS Audit queries for assigned business units.
  • Performing all other related duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of tax and accounting experience with a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to team effectively with different business cultures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent thinker and self-starter.
  • Strong written, presentation, organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting with focus on process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles and ASC 740, with recent experience with Tax Accounting and/or SOX internal controls for Tax
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with data analytics tools a plus (ie. Qlik Sense, Alteryx, Tableau)
  • CPA
