As the director of growth strategy, you will be vital to OptumRx's success in driving future growth. You will be responsible for driving key growth initiatives to support the sales team in hitting their revenue and client retention goals.

In this role, you will serve as the senior- level liaison between the OptumRx growth operations team, our market presidents and their client facing teams and other internal partners to ensure our client revenue retention and growth goals are achieved. This is a high-performing individual with proven leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare ecosystem.

This position requires someone who is able to handle multiple priorities, drive implementation of initiatives and monitor existing program progress. This individual brings a relentless attention detail and a willingness to 'roll up one's sleeves' and assist wherever needed.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and partners to execute plans that effectively address the needs of the OptumRx markets and support our aggressive growth agenda
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with cross segment and cross functional partners and key stakeholders teams to drive performance excellence and drive forward solution oriented initiatives
  • Initiative implementation and oversight
    • Independently lead multiple large, highly complex growth initiatives in partnership with key internal stakeholders using established project management techniques
    • Build and develop relationships across teams to ensure effective support and feedback loops and that deliverables are met. Provides ongoing communications on project status, results, and conclusions
    • Lead the Upsell Planning and Delivery program, including partnering with the product, marketing and finance organizations to set expectations for identification of product roadmap, value of offerings, promotion of services, and tracking of activities to achieve annual goals. Understands OptumRx product and service offering, and can articulate the operational, clinical and financial value of our programs
    • Lead the must-win planning and execution, including partnering with key growth office partners to identify pursuit strategy and solutions needed to displace incumbent
    • Partner closely with other internal functional partners as needed to support growth and client retention agenda, including readiness and client NPS support
  • Present actionable recommendations to Market Presidents and Sales Leadership based on sales/growth analytics

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent related
  • 3+ years of experience implementing healthcare programs to including proven ability to drive, lead and communicate change effectively in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable within the changing environment
  • 3+ years of project management experience including tracking, planning projects
  • Experience with sales, client management, and sales operations experience
  • Desire to lead, inspire and take on a leadership role
  • Ability to respond to requests for ad hoc support within short timeframes and an emphasis on exceptional quality
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
  • Experience working with or in relation to renewal and upselling programs
  • Experience working with sales operations
  • PMB related experience
  • Solid knowledge of pharmacy products and marketing organizations
  • Six Sigma
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build and foster cross-functional relationships with team, partners, and executives in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
