Sr Manager Information Systems - Enterprise Integrations Product Owner


What you will do

In this vital role you will work on our Enterprise Engineering and Analytics (EEA) team, reporting to the Director - Enterprise Integrations and will work out of our Amgen Capability Center in Tampa, FL. The Sr. Manager Information Systems position provides a unique opportunity to work as part of a fun and innovative engineering team. We use innovative software, frameworks, tools, and cloud computing services within the platforms to build next generation capabilities and services in Enterprise Integrations areas. This person will serve as the Product Owner of the Enterprise Integration Agile product teams with responsibility of the success of the integration products/platforms and is the decision maker for product vision and features.

The Sr. Manager Information Systems should have solid understanding of System Integration products, API integrations, Streaming technologies, and web application development. This role must be able to work with direct and indirect reports to design, develop and document needed code sets to requirements following our standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define a vision for the product that delivers high business value and delights users of the product
  • Regularly meets with customers and conducts Voice of the Customer sessions to understand the customer needs and difficulties, and works with the product team to deliver solutions
  • Defines and Collects product metrics in order to evaluate product success
  • Regularly attends Agile scrum meetings and prioritizes user stories and epics, balancing client needs, strategic vision and ongoing technical debt
  • Develops, owns, and implements product roadmap
  • Provide technical direction, and business knowledge of detailed design, development and/or support activities for the Enterprise Integrations development team
  • Work with our Product Architects and Vendors to create scalable and manageable designs and implement enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies, using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API Management or other Mule products
  • Mentor and support team members and coach them with their career planning
  • Develop performance and training plan for each team member

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Technology experience

OR Master's degree and 6 years of Information Technology experience

OR Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information Technology experience

OR Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Technology experience

OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Technology experience

AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of product or project development experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Product Management and/or Product Development
  • Consistent track record of delivering integration solutions with a customer-first mentality
  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile and DevOps principles
  • Prior Experience with 1 or more Integration Platforms (i.e. API Management, Streaming Technology, iPaaS): MuleSoft AnyPoint Platform, Databricks,, AWS
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to handle various tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
  • Ability to work in a startup-like environment with little supervision
  • Biotech / Pharma experience is a plus
