Job Description

This position is in the O06 Program Quality Management ( PQM ) Group and reports to the PQM Manager. The candidate must be able to perform complex assignments independently with minimal direction , as well as lead investigations/evaluations of shipyard processes , and procedures . This position focuses on identifying areas of opportunity and improving process rework performance. This position requires strong project management skills. The candidate shall accurately identify corrections to defect and cause of a problem based on objective quality evidence and root cause analysis.

This position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to various areas in the yard, learn more about the shipyard value streams and waterfront processes, and expand network of contacts within NNS.

Basic Qualifications

2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

Employee should have strong communication (verbal and written) and critical-thinking skills, be inquisitive with a willingness to learn, and have a desire to facilitate resolution of complex problems while working with all levels from individual contributor to director level in all functional areas of the company.
