Your Role

The BlueCard team is responsible for sharing with our healthcare providers the benefits of using BlueShield of California as their claims processor. This includes building relationships, conducting educational sessions and addressing any concerns or questions regarding the BlueCard national network program. The BlueCard Account Manager will report to the Senior BlueCard Manager. In this role you will hold quota for both BlueCard revenue and claims volume from your assigned territory of Providers. In person meetings are expected as part of building strong sustained Account relationships.

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Use thorough understanding of the BlueCard program and can confidently differentiate between BSCA and competing services
  • Use thorough understanding upcoming developments in the healthcare market (healthcare reform, state and local healthcare legislation, new entrants, Provider requirement shifts)
  • Anticipate provider pushback and have intermediate understanding of factors at play
  • Communicate with Providers' revenue teams in a proactive and timely manner. Gain access to some executive level decision makers
  • Use data to proactively track trends, identify opportunities and anticipate Provider needs. Ask probing questions to understand Provider needs
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on the BlueCard program and network in California
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with claims operations and Provider management teams to solve Providers' BlueCard issues
  • Deliver thoughtful forecasts of Claim and Revenue trends in your assigned territory
  • Support your colleagues in the BlueCard team with back up and assistance




Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires 3 years Health Plan experience in claims, sales, or provider relations
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong work relationships that deliver results
  • Requires the ability to visit Providers on site
  • Requires the ability to effectively deliver training and education materials either live or via the web

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely.
