The Defense Group at Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Security Architecture and System Engineer Lead on our GSMO II IDIQ contract's Joint Service Provider (JSP) Cyber Security Task Order in Alexandria, VA. JSP provides a full range of IT products, services, and solutions and customer services to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) and the Joint Staff (JS), Director of Administration (DA), Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), and other OSD offices for them to meet mission and business requirements. Through the JSP Cyber Security program, JSP performs a wide variety of services and functions required to secure the information security posture for DoD services.

This Task Order has 100+ FTEs working to ensure JSP's Cyber Security program adheres to JSP, DoD, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) approved cyber society, information assurance (IA) architecture, policies, programs, standards, and guidelines. The System Engineer Lead provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution.

This role will be based onsite in the Alexandria, VA area and an active Top Secret (SCI eligible) security clearance is required prior to start. Some remote work is allowed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution.
  • Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems.
  • Directs overall system level testing.
  • Responsible for designing/architecting the Vulnerability Assessment team's lab as well as creating all of the required documents and diagrams
  • As missions change and modifications need to be made to the environment, the lead will update the architecture and diagrams and then work with the network engineer and the application admin to update the environment.
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution.
  • Develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, devices and systems.
  • Directs overall system level testing.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering Discipline and 12+ years of experience is required. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with Puppet, Chef, or other configuration management tools
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and HyperV
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP technologies
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with system performance monitoring & fine-tuning
  • Experience with back up technologies
  • Proven technical experience and a solid foundation in operating systems
  • Strong work ethic and have a natural tendency to take ownership of incidents & requests
  • Good team communication skills, with technical and non-technical colleagues Experience with Splunk or ELK
  • Experience with Hadoop
  • Experience working with SAN/NAS storage environments
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience in programming languages (C#, Perl, Python a plus)
  • ITIL certification or working knowledge
  • Additional advanced certifications (i.e. Microsoft, VMWare, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux system administration such as Red Hat / CentOS a plus
  • Experience in Oracle and MS SQL environments a plus
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows systems administration.
  • DoD 8570 Compliant for IAT III
  • Active Top Secret (SCI eligible) security clearance is required prior to start.
