Job Summary

Provides safety support to assigned area. Assists with the delivery of customized safety-related information.

Essential Functions

•Promotes a "Safety Above All" culture. •Ensures accurate and complete safety forms and documents. •Functions as a point of contact for safety related local emergencies, as directed. Assesses the situation and provides safety guidance. •Collects, maintains, and approves various documents to ensure compliance and completeness, including driver qualification files, building and vehicle inspections, and safety committee meeting minutes. •Reviews safety-related internal control results and ensures compliance with the company's policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements. Reviews action plans and reinforces best practices to assist field operations in maintaining compliance with safety policies and procedures. •Recommends that accountability measures related to safety administration be executed, when appropriate. •Resolves routine safety issues and responds to questions related to safety policy, procedure and regulations. •Conducts all aspects of motorized equipment training (switcher, PIT), including administration process oversite and driving instructions. •On a limited basis, conducts training classes on various safety-related topics. •Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

•High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Logistics, transportation, business management or related fields preferred.

Minimum Experience

•Two (2) years of Transportation, Safety, Operations Coordinator or similar position.

Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure

•A valid driver's license and qualified switcher file. •Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies, and procedures related to safety. •Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications. •Customer service skills necessary to effectively and professionally respond to requests. •Ability to develop effective methods for proofing and quality review to ensure all aspects of work are completed correctly. •Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information. •Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
