Responsible for daily oversight of dispatch center operations. Dispatch Supervisor responsibilities include training, quality assurance and overall effectiveness of the dispatch center; meeting on time performance goals for numerous metro areas; reporting; supervising disaster recovery; and team-work schedules.

Supervises dispatch office of 18 coordinators. Oversees Incoming Call Volume and assists with routing and dispatching of 2500+ patient transports daily among 200+ drivers handling an average of 750 incoming calls daily. Monitors all transports while working with customer service and local management to ensure on time metrics are met.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the daily workflow and scheduling of a team of Transportation Service Coordinators
  • Compiles data and analyzes reports for key metrics
  • Monitors individual performance through the review and analysis of operational reports
  • Conducts quality monitoring to ensure accuracy of information provided to Transportation Specialists, Clinics and Customer Service
  • Receives and resolves customer complaints in a timely and courteous manner
  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert and trains, coaches and develops new-hire employees
  • Administers counseling and corrective actions for employees displaying problematic behaviors
  • Maintains appropriate progressive discipline logs and partners with Human Resources on facilitating the termination process when needed
  • Supports staffing initiatives by screening, interviewing and selecting new employees for current job vacancies
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required or HS Diploma/GED plus 4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience within a transportation (public or private), logistics or distribution/delivery industry
  • Experience with Transportation Management Software, routing and dispatching procedures
  • Experience in the healthcare or managed care industry
  • Experience working in a transportation dispatch center
  • Experience in Supervisory call center
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
  • Excellent time management and customer service skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating with customers and subordinate employees
  • Ability prioritize and manage a variety of time demands and situations simultaneously

Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
