REPS Manufacturing Engineering Central Group Co-Op 2022
The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.
Major Job Responsibilities:
This position involves working with the REPS Central Manufacturing Engineering Group. Primary responsibility will be to assist the Engineering Manager and provide support to the Manufacturing Engineers. The candidate must want to gain experience in both Engineering and Business, like managing the group Capital Equipment deployment data base. Must have basic financial knowledge. Other tasks include;
- Manage MEED data base
- Update to TcM SMD library
- Manage PO to MQ1 tracker
- Assist in Capital forecasting
- Attend MQ1 / MQ2 runoffs as needed
- Create capability reports
- Analyze QAD spending reports
- Assist in updates to TcM
- Assist MEs with runoff books
- Keep Forecast spending updated
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be attending a 4-year university local to Saginaw
- Must be pursuing Bachelor's in Engineering
- Mechanical preferred
- Must have a minimum 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
- Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during the Fall and Winter semesters
- Must be able to work 20-32 hours per week during the Fall and Winter Semesters
- Up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
- Medium level of analytical skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Basic finance knowledge
- Some Knowledge of Problem-Solving Techniques (i.e.: Shaina/Six Sigma/Fast X) preferred but not required
- Some knowledge of GD&T, Statistic software and Auto Cad preferred but not required
